Since 1928

The origins of the current School of Chemical Engineering are rooted in those of the Catholic University of Valparaiso, since on the date it was created in 1928, it included the School of Chemical Technical Engineering. Since those years the School of Engineering has worked in educating professionals with the ability to be leaders in the industries of transformation of matter and energy. The School, as a trainer of Engineering professionals, values ​​and recognizes the responsibility of its academics to generate new knowledge and for this has a policy with emphasis on applied research, which is developed in a series of defined areas, such as: Thermodynamics and Applied Electrochemistry, Industrial Processes, Extractive Metallurgy, Simulation and Control, Natural Resources, Emerging Areas (Environment, Safety, Materials Science, Renewable Energy, among others).
