Biología y ecología reproductiva de peces
Esclerocronología de organismos acuáticos
RESEÑA
Su interés en investigación se centra en la Esclero-cronología, disciplina que estudia los patrones físicos y químicos en bandas de crecimientos registrados en estructuras calcificadas, tales como exoesqueletos de corales, conchas de moluscos, otolitos, estatolitos, escamas, huesos operculares, vértebras, entre otras. Estas estructuras registran no sólo los cambios de edad y crecimiento, sino también la influencia de forzantes ambientales y antrópicos, permitiendo reconstruir los rasgos de la historia de vida de organismos acuáticos, a diferentes escalas espaciales y temporales. También su interés en investigación se orienta al estudio de estrategias reproductivas de peces, particularmente aquellas vinculadas a sus ciclos de vida en condiciones naturales.
Actualmente imparte docencia para la carrera de Oceanografía, el Magister en Oceanografía y el Magister en Gestión de Recursos Acuáticos.
