In line with its mission to offer an education of excellence, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), expands its academic offer for the 2025 Admissions process, incorporating the Advertising program.
This new proposal is an addition to the Digital Animation, Videogames Development and Virtual Simulation, and Public Administration, consolidating the interdisciplinary approach of the PUCV through its Professional Education Interdisciplinary Program (PIFP, for its name in Spanish).
The Advertising Program it based on creativity, the strategic use of advanced technologies and the application of analytical tools, preparing future professionals to design and execute ad campaigns that are innovative and effective. Therefore, the study plan includes knowledge of graphic design, audiovisual production, and social communication, allowing students to create advertising solutions adapted to the dynamic changes of the digital world.
Luis Villarroel, director of the PIFP, explained that “the PUCV advertising professional will be able to develop innovative ad campaigns, implement technological solutions to optimize the interaction with audiences through digital media, and advise in communication strategies, always with a comprehensive vision adapted to the needs of the current market”.
Training also includes the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence applied to marketing, data analytics and advertising automatization platforms, which will allow graduates to manage advanced tools to improve the interaction between brands and consumers.
In the same way the program incorporates a social responsibility and sustainability approach in the creation of campaigns and advertising pieces, with the goal of generating a positive impact in both the business world and the community.
“The Advertising program at the PUCV seeks to contribute to diversification of the productive matrix of the country. According to the Corporation of Production Promotion (Corfo, for its name in Spanish), the Region of Valparaiso is the second region with the greatest growth in companies at the national level, therefore we believe that from here we can become an advertising niche, generating advertising and corporate campaigns through digital environments”, indicated the PIFP director.
The programs’ curriculum will include courses like Visual Creativity, Fundamentals of Communication, Fundamentals of Marketing, Graphic Production, Digital Design and Edition, Art Direction, Audiovisual Language, Creative Direction, Psychology of the Consumer, Audiences and Segmentation, Ethics and Audiovisual Law, and Corporate Management and Reputation, among others, guaranteeing a comprehensive education that responds to the current challenges in the advertising world.
In accordance with the 2023-2029 Strategic Development Plan, this new program reasserts the commitment of the PUCV with innovation in its academic offer and its relevance to the regional and national development.
