The Faculty of Law is one of the nine faculties of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. Within each faculty, there are schools and institutes. The Faculty of Law is formed by just one academic unit, the School of Law.
Founded in 1949, the Faculty oversees the School of Law and the postgraduate programs, which include the PhD in Law, Master in Law (LLM) with specializations, Master in Criminal Law and Master in Criminal Sciences. Its highest authority is the Dean.
The Bachelor's Degree in Legal Science is granted by the School of Law, founded in 1894. The School of Law is headed by its Director .

The School of Law conceives itself as an institution whose distinctive feature is outstanding academic work. Through strict procedures, it shows achievements in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, continuing training and knowledge, all widely recognized at a national and international level.

The Law School aspires to make a contribution to the country through an academic community that reflects its diversity.

Our Mission

Inspired in the values held by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, the School of Law's mission is to give quality legal training at its different levels, with ethic and social commitment, intellectual rigour, responsibility, professional excellence and critical thinking. On this basis, the School of Law exists as a community that creates and transmits a high level of knowledge for the legal profession.

The School undertakes responsibility within its region and with the country as a whole.
